Mark began his career in the Food Service Industry in 1982 with what is now known as TriMark United East. He was a territory salesman for TriMark for 6 years covering South Eastern Rhode Island and South Eastern Connecticut. After TriMark, Mark became the New England Regional manager for the Hall China Company, covering the entire New England dealer and end-user base for 15 years. In 2001, Mark left Hall China as a direct employee, bringing the Hall China line with him to start a rep group on his own. Mark’s breadth of experience as a dealer salesperson, factory regional manager and a successful independent representative has covered all aspects of the food service industry.

Seeking new challenges, John left a very successful career in law enforcement to open his first restaurant in 1982. John and the restaurant business were a good match. The Seahorse Tavern quickly became one of the region's favorite dining spots. John developed an excellent reputation in local business circles and additional opportunities soon presented themselves. Ultimately, over the course of 20 years, John owned and operated four different independent restaurants in the southeastern Connecticut region.  In 2003 John retired from the restaurant business, opting for a more traditional work schedule, and took a position as the Director of Marketing for a multi-million dollar company which manufactured and distributed specialized plastic products. Just before teaming up with Mark Travis to form Travis & Hewes, John worked for a short time as a sales representative for a major food broker in the Northeast. Combined, these experiences give John a perspective characterized by the toughness and integrity of a law enforcement official, a full understanding of an end users' viewpoint and know-how in the fields of marketing, manufacturing, sales and distribution. This is a unique perspective that John uses to the full advantage of the clients of Travis & Hewes.

Noreen has worked in many aspects of the restaurant industry since 1976, ranging from dishwasher, line cook, waitress and bartender, to restaurant manager. Every job Noreen has had since high school has been in the restaurant industry. This is important in that she understands the needs and problems that restaurateur faces on a daily basis. Noreen is the office manager at Travis & Hewes and handles the sales and service aspects of the business.

Mary is the business manager for Travis & Hewes. Prior to joining Travis & Hewes, Mary worked in the restaurant business for more than 15 years including; waiting tables, bartending, managing and bookkeeping for her brother’s 4 restaurants. In addition, Mary was the office manager for a busy accounting firm from 2001 to 2003. Through this experience Mary understands, first hand, the types of problems end users face and she knows what they expect from their manufacturers and suppliers. She has also developed the financial background needed to keep a business on track. Mary's experience, along with her outstanding people skills, give her the tools necessary to keep our office running smoothly and to serve our clients in a professional and efficient manner.
